Shift/Candyland: Part 4 June Sekiguchi and Mary Coss

STATES OF BEING Candyland, Stockholm, Sweden, August 3-19, 2010

Part 4 in an ongoing exchange between Shift/Seattle and Candyland/Stockholm with the work of American artists Mary Coss and June Sekiguchi presenting work in Sweden.

Coss and Sekiguchi share the concept of parts to the whole and explore the nature of being. Their work manifests in very different ways, yet they are telling a story of life. From birth to death and somewhere in between this work explores how we become who we are, how we experience the life we live, and what follows when our physical existence ends. In both worlds elements unfold to tell a story.
